Mental Health
Florida Assertive Community Treatment (FACT) Teams provide comprehensive, wraparound services to help individuals stay stable in their communities, not in hospitals. What makes FACT Teams different is their whole-person approach: psychiatrists, social workers, peer mentors, and housing specialists work together with the patient to improve not just mental health, but overall quality of life.

Affordable Housing
PEACE is focused on increasing the number of affordable apartments for this population. Palm Beach County has a requirement for developers to build “Workforce Housing” – which is for individuals and families making between $67,080 and $156,520 annually. This is great and helps a segment of the population. However, no such requirement exists for “Affordable Housing”. This is directly contributing to the lack of affordable housing for the missing middle or those making below 60% AMI.

Police Community Relations
PEACE learned that law enforcement is not required in Florida to track data on all traffic stops, including those that don’t result in written warnings or arrests. Verbal warning data, which often result from investigatory stops, is not being tracked or analyzed for potential racial profiling. With this data in hand, law enforcement agencies can address problems as they arise through training, reassignment, or termination if needed.
